Have you ever heard the phrase, “no pain, no gain”? Well that is not a motto we say around here at Elrod Orthodontics. We like to keep our patients as pain-free as possible! We do, however know that there are instances, especially during adjustments, that your teeth and mouth can feel sore. That is why we are continuing our series on foods that can help ease your post-adjustment soreness.

We want you to be able to have the most pain-free experience and we want to help by giving you tips on the right foods to eat after an adjustment. Today we will be looking at lunch time meals.

Chicken Noodle Soup

Chicken Noodle Soup is a great go-to meal just after a braces adjustment!

The great thing about lunch is that there are a variety of options that you can choose from. Now that fall is upon us, one of the best things you can eat with sore teeth is soup. Not only will it warm you up, it also is very easy on the mouth and jaw!

The Right Soup

The key to soups is to find a soup that is not very chunky. Our top three recommendations include: tomato soup, french onion soup, and chicken noodle soup! There are all sorts of recipes for each of these soups online, or if you really want to play the “my teeth reeeeeeallllly hurt” card, ask your mom to swing by Panera Bread, who has soups in all three of these varieties (just be sure to stay away from the bread bowl!).

The next time you have a braces adjustment appointment near lunch time, plan ahead and grab your favorite soup from the grocery store to keep on hand. Trust me, you will be glad you did!

Stay tuned next week for other quick, easy and soft lunch time meals!
